What is commonly known as Strathaven Park is actually two adjacent parks - the John Hastie and the George Allen parks - opened in 1915 and 1902 respectively.

The Miniature Railway
Between them, the parks contain a variety of facilities including a miniature railway,
a boating pond, a putting green, a bowling green, tennis courts, a children's playground
and a cafe.

Model Boat Club
The boating pond is not only used for children's paddle boats and canoes but is the venue for the East Kilbride Model Ship Boat Club.

The John Hastie Museum
Also situated on the edge of the park is the John Hastie musuem - a small museum containing historical items and displays of local interest.
